More Australia Day awards!
We’re so excited to see not one, not two, but three Dolly’s Dream community fundraising events being recognised for their efforts by receiving the Australia Day Community Event of the Year Award – huge news!
Doin’ it for Dolly Rodeo
Shannon and Dan pulled together an incredible event last year with their Doin’ it for Dolly Rodeo at Springsure Showgrounds, raising more than $175,000. The awareness that was raised about Dolly’s story and the tragic outcome that bullying can have was felt across the community. Not only did Shannon and Dan win the Australia Day award for their event, but they also won Queensland Tidy Towns Bush Spirit Award.
Well done guys!
Barkly Beef Dinner
It was also great to see the team behind the Barkly Beef Dinner also get an Award for getting their local community together to support Dolly’s Dream. The hardworking committee is running the event again this year, so if you’re in Tennant Creek on Friday 12th July, you’re in luck! Join the night of fun, prizes, live music and great food, all while supporting Dolly’s Dream. Be sure to check out the Barkly Beef Dinner Facebook page for more details.
Thank you team!
Duck Creek Picnic Races
The Duck Creek Picnic Races are one of the Western Plains (Nyngan, NSW) social events of the year!
We’re thrilled they were chosen for an Australia Day award as well. Supporting Dolly’s Dream in 2018, they raised almost $30,000, highlighting our anti-bullying message to about 5,000 people.
Thanks to everyone for choosing to support Dolly’s Dream – and congratulations to all involved!
