September was another huge month, we’ve been show jumping in Coffs Coast, have some amazing initiatives to explore from our Katherine Community Project, and have developed a collaboration with Mental Health First Aid Australia to roll out more workshops to regional, rural and remote communities and much more!
Here are your updates for September.

COFFS COAST JUMP CLUB RIBBON DAY
Recently the legends over at Coffs Coast Jump Club ran a Ribbon Day to raise money for Dolly’s Dream. More on their day below.
Coffs Coast Jump Club supported Dolly’s Dream, as our club is all about inclusivity. Many of our members are in their teenage years, and we thought it was important to raise awareness about bullying and show there is support out there if and when it is needed.
To support Dolly’s Dream, we ran a ribbon day with showjumping rounds ranging from 50cm to 130cm. Competitors were encouraged to dress in blue, and there were prizes for the best dressed. We also held a raffle on the day, for which our local Horseland donated many prizes. The club raised $2,000 in support of Dolly’s Dream. We would love to run more fundraisers in the future as they are a great way to bring the community together and support such a great cause.
KATHERINE COMMUNITY PROJECT REPORT
We have just received the report from our Katherine Community Consultation project. Over August, Dolly’s Dream were in Katherine running community co-design workshops with Y Lab and Y NT to design solutions that Dolly’s Dream can pilot within Katherine to support bullying, cyber bullying, mental ill health, and suicide.
The report provides three recommendations in key spaces explored in the workshops, including broader exploration of mental health support, community belonging and creative ways to create broader awareness of mental health.
The Dolly’s Dream Team will work through the report to create a plan over the next few months. Stay tuned!
SUPPORTER PROFILE – INPEX
This year INPEX selected Dolly’s Dream as one of two charities they are supporting for their ‘Perfect Day’ onsite safety campaign.
INPEX is operating Ichthys LNG in Australia and this year, they undertook maintenance of their offshore and onshore facilities. They implemented the safety incentive campaign to encourage better safety performance among their team.
Throughout the maintenance campaign, INPEX pledged to donate $500 to selected charities for every safe ‘perfect day’ achieved by facilities and teams. A ‘perfect day’ was achieved when there were no injuries or incidents, no harm to the environment, and all employees returned home in the same condition as which they arrived.
Dolly’s Dream was nominated by an employee and selected as one of two charities that their onshore facility team in Darwin would be supporting. The maintenance campaign rain between 26 June to 10 August 2022.
A huge congratulations to INPEX for the results of their ‘Perfect Day’ campaign and a huge thank you their support.
MHFA AUSTRALIA COLLABORATION
Due to an increase in demand for our workshops, we recently engaged with Mental Health First Aid Australia and now have a number of qualified workshop facilitators across Australia to enable us to reach more communities in 2023. We are excited to see the benefits of this collaboration very soon!
MOST ENGAGED SOCIAL POST FOR THE MONTH
Never be afraid to take time for yourself, it is in those moments we can find ourselves and bounce back even stronger
