
Sometimes we are asked about grief and bereavement services and where to get help after losing a loved one, so we worked with the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) to compile a list of services available in Australia.
The AGCB is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which was established in 1996 to provide a range of education, training, research and professional service options for those working in the area of grief and bereavement.
Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement
Bereavement counselling, support group and, information for bereaved adults, adolescents, children, and families. Also provides education and training opportunities for health professionals.
Australian Child & Adolescent Trauma, Loss and Grief Network
The network aims to promote understanding of child and adolescent trauma, loss and grief.
Bears of Hope
Bears Of Hope Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support provides leading support and exceptional care for families who experience the loss of their baby.
Provides comprehensive and accessible counselling and support services for the terminally ill and their families, and for those recently bereaved.
Grief counselling, support groups, workshops and debriefing.
CarerHelp
Launched October 2019, CarerHelp is designed to assist people who are caring for someone who is at the end of life. It provides information and advice on how carers can be better prepared in the form of learning modules, links to useful caring resources, videos of carer experiences, and factsheets.
Centre for Care and Wellbeing (CCW)
The Centre for Care and Wellbeing (CCW) at Springvale Botanical Cemetery shares a partnership with the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (ACGB) to offer visitors a wide range of support services and activities. The CCW offers companionship, friendship and understanding to bereaved visitors in their journey through grief, loss and mourning. The Centre for Care and Wellbeing is located at Springvale Botanical Cemetery, 23A Smith Road, Springvale.
