Thanks for visiting my fundraising page and helping to create a better world for our kids!
Your donation will help raise funds for 'Dolly's Dream' and support initiatives that are helping to educate our community about the task of bullying prevention.
Dolly’s Dream was created by Kate and Tick Everett following the shattering loss of their 14-year-old daughter, Dolly, to suicide, after ongoing bullying. Kate and Tick’s goal is to prevent other families walking this road. They want to change the culture of bullying by addressing the impact of bullying, anxiety, depression and youth suicide, through education and direct support to young people and families.
This is a charity close to my heart. You can learn more about the cause and history of the organisation here - Dolly's Dream: Home (dollysdream.org.au)
To support this amazing cause, I am working on an idea to raise funds and awareness in the community. I hope to create an initiative that is different, upbeat and ambitious.
I am passionate about bush poetry and hope to be able to use this interest to support such a great cause. This is the beginning of what we hope will be a wonderful journey with your support.
My aim is to rally my own networks and community to help the cause by:
1. educating young people,
and,
2. minimizing the culture of bullying by addressing the impact, anxiety, depression and prevalence of youth suicide.
Although in the early stages of planning, I hope to:
1. Run a bush poetry competition bush poetry to explore and express the benefits of Aussie mateship and education for young people.
2. Deliver a community event to bring people together to learn more about the cause and my undertaking to support them. Including through my own (and others) poetry and literature.
3. Host a gala ball where the poetry competition winners will be awarded and celebrated, while raising funds for Dolly’s Dream from sponsorship, ticket sales and event activities.
Thank you for your interest in my initiative to support the work of Dolly’s Dream. You can donate, or sponsor my efforts through this page, or leave a message of encouragement and support.
Alternatively, you can contact me directly.
Thank you!
