Amanda and
Millie's* Story

The Difference You Make When You Go Blue

Amanda’s* world turned upside down when her daughter Millie* became the target of relentless bullying in their small town.

This everyday mum watched helplessly as her bright and bubbly child’s joy was replaced by fear, sadness, and isolation. Millie stopped laughing, stopped going to her favourite dance classes, and started dreading every single day.

“I watched my happy, confident daughter fade before my eyes,” Amanda* shared. Every door I knocked on was a dead end. I felt completely alone, and worse, I felt like I was failing Millie*.”

Then the bullying moved online. Cruel messages and taunts followed Millie into what was once her safe space. Amanda* described the heartbreaking moment she realized her daughter was too scared to even check her phone.

“It felt like we couldn’t escape it,” Amanda* said. “The bullying was everywhere—in the classroom, on her phone, in her own mind. I knew something had to change, but I didn’t know where to turn.”

But everything changed when Amanda* found Dolly's Dream.

“When I called the Dolly’s Dream Support Line, it was like someone finally heard me,” Amanda said. “The counsellor gave me practical advice, helped me support Millie, and reminded me that we weren’t alone. For the first time, I felt hope.”

With Dolly’s Dream’s help, Amanda* was able to rebuild her daughter’s sense of safety and self-worth. The Beacon Cyber Safety App gave her the tools to protect Millie online, and having support through the 24/7 Dolly’s Dream Support Line  made them feel less alone.

“Dolly’s Dream was our lifeline. Without it, I don’t know where we’d be today. They didn’t just help Millie, they saved her.”
