I'm Fundraising to Help End Bullying as this is personal for me. Too many kids are not supported and often when bullied end up reacting to the bully and are then the one punished. Bullying needs to stop.

I am a 13-year-old survivor of school bullying, I am selling snacks at school to raise money as my way to raise funds over Terms 1 and 2 at Blackheath and Thornburg College where I go to school and have also experienced first-hand and second-hand bullying. Currently I have a friend who makes sure I am safe daily, but that is not how school should be experienced.
Winning the Blackthorn Award means I was a positive member of my school community last year, and this year I want to again be a positive member, through taking the opportunity to raise funds for an important charity- Do It For Dolly. *It*is to stop bullying, to be kinder, to be gentler and overall be a better and more positive person.
Thanks to my mum, who is studying to become a psychologist, I understand why kids bully. But that does not make it right. Stopping bullying in any environment isn’t just important; it’s critical as these bullies go on to be a negative example for their kids who think it is ok to also be bullies! So it does matter to stop bullying at school!!
I am taking a stand—fundraising and supporting Dolly’s Dream this year. My mother explained how schools may try, but the real issue starts at home—where kids learn whether cruelty is acceptable towards others. Too often, bullies push their victims to the breaking point, and when those victims finally react (she explained that this is called reactive abuse), they are the ones punished, while the bully learns how to escalate issues and escape punishment. This has to change. No child should suffer in silence. No child should feel powerless. It’s time to stand up, speak out, and fight for those who need us most.

Please feel free to help me reach my goal... But even if you cannot 'help' me, please share far and wide so that the issue continues to gain attention and support!! One day, bullying might come to an end.
